The brand straddles the line between the new and old school philosophies of the region, continuing to use the classic 5000l botti, but upgrading to French oak.
Bruno Giacosa only releases riserva wines in truly exceptional vintages, such as 2004. Antonio Galloni of Vinous awarded this wine 100 points, stating, “The 2004 Barolo Riserva Le Rocche del Falletto is simply as profound as wine can be. Period.” The wine is redolent with aromas and flavors of crunchy red fruits, dried roses, mushrooms, and spice. While the tannins have softened with time in the bottle, they still make themselves known and are complemented by broad acidity that washes over the palate.
