About This Wine

Château Palmer is a third growth in name only. After all, how many third growths notch four perfect scores in a single vintage? For more than two centuries, the estate has led with quality and authenticity, offering wine lovers a pure expression of Bordeaux without sacrificing craftsmanship.

First released in 2004, the Château Palmer Historical XIX Century Wine is a true treat for wine collectors. The blend contains 42.5 merlot, 42.5 cabernet sauvignon, and 15 syrah, proportions that pay homage to the smell and taste of Château Palmer from the 19th century. Discerning eyes will note that the estate’s name does not appear on the label. That’s not a mistake. For legal reasons, Château Palmer releases this non-vintage wine as a “Vin de France” with the lot number (20.17) reflecting the year of its release (2017), forgoing any mention of the wine’s specific origins.

The Final Sip: Take a step back in time with this ultra-rare blend from one of the most undervalued estates in Bordeaux.
