About This Wine
Clos Apalta marks the apex of Franco-Chilean winemaking collaboration. In 1994, Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and Cyril de Bournet first set foot in Chile’s Colchagua Valley. They soon purchased vineyards after realizing the region’s potential for producing world-class wine. The duo brought generations of French winemaking heritage to the region and, three years later, debuted the first vintage of Clos Apalta.
The Bordeaux-style red wine has a distinctive personality rich with ripe fruit and spiced intensity. It prominently features carmenère with traces of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and petit verdot. Between 2014 and 2017, Clos Apalta received three 100-point ratings from wine critic James Suckling, who called it “a monumental wine for Chile.”
The Final Sip: Any collection of Chile’s finest wines is incomplete without Clos Apalta.
